Discover this charming 19th-century luxurious brick mansion in London

One Sloane is the latest addition to London's array of luxury hotels and it is discreetly nestled within a charming 19th-Century Brick Mansion. Anticipated to open its doors in September, this opulent establishment will boast 30 exquisite rooms and suites, an extravagant French restaurant, and a secretive speakeasy for a truly exclusive experience.

We're talking about London's latest luxurious hideaway that can be found within one of Chelsea's charming 19th-century brick mansions! If you are in search of a unique location, don't skip this. Nestled on a serene residential street adjacent to Sloane Square, the extravagant One Sloane exudes the warmth of a cherished family home while offering 30 exquisite rooms and suites. This grand masterpiece is the result of a collaborative effort between the renowned five-star Parisian hotel Costes, visionary French designer Francois-Joseph Graf, and the venerable Cadogan dynasty, seamlessly fusing the allure of Chelsea with the sophistication of Parisian chic. Originally created by architect Edwin Thomas Hall in 1889, the historic building at 1 Sloane Gardens experienced an extensive six-year renovation to restore its magnificence. The façade was carefully revitalized, the interiors renovated, and a sixth floor was added to accommodate the hotel's remarkable offerings. Once you step inside, you will be captivated by the gentle glow of interior lighting, highlighting the period details like ornate ceiling cornices, wood paneling, stained-glass windows, and even whimsical trompe l’oeil artistic illusions. The Neo-Greek lobby and library are adorned with mosaics, vases, and dazzling chandeliers that infuse a touch of opulence.

Throughout the interiors, you can find lovingly restored antique furniture and detailed replicas by British designers Edward William Godwin and Charles Rennie Mackintosh. Graf's artistic vision came to life with the collaboration of multiple skilled artisans, resulting in 21 exquisite carpets, 19 unique curtain designs, and 50 custom fabrics adorning the premises.

Graf shared his guiding principle for the project: to respect and enhance the original features, seamlessly blending them with modern sensibilities. What's more, the staircase is graced by William Morris wallpaper, leading to corridors adorned with hand-painted calligraphy. Accommodations vary, ranging from the cozy 194-square-foot Essentielle room with a queen-size bed to the grand 904-square-foot Appartement Sloane, featuring two bedrooms, two bathrooms, walk-in closets, and a spacious living room. The rooms and suites feature a subtle Asian design influence harmoniously blended with traditional British elements. However, once there, you shouldn't miss the hotel's all-day restaurant that draws inspiration from the timeless 19th-century masterpiece, The Peacock Room. The place offers delectable traditional French dishes and the adjoining cupola provides breathtaking views of Chelsea, while the downstairs speakeasy serves up crafted cocktails, fine wines, and spirits. With its own private entrance on Holbein Place and a resident DJ, the bar guarantees an exclusive and lively ambiance.

For those seeking a quintessential London experience, One Sloane enjoys a prime location just a stone's throw away from the famed King's Road, with its plethora of boutiques and art galleries. While the official opening is scheduled for September, you can already make reservations through the hotel's website, if you're super eager and really want to secure your place in this charming retreat.
