This grand masterpiece is the result of a collaborative effort between the renowned five-star Parisian hotel Costes, visionary French designer Francois-Joseph Graf, and the venerable Cadogan dynasty, seamlessly fusing the allure of Chelsea with the sophistication of Parisian chic. Originally created by architect Edwin Thomas Hall in 1889, the historic building at 1 Sloane Gardens experienced an extensive six-year renovation to restore its magnificence. The façade was carefully revitalized, the interiors renovated, and a sixth floor was added to accommodate the hotel's remarkable offerings. Once you step inside, you will be captivated by the gentle glow of interior lighting, highlighting the period details like ornate ceiling cornices, wood paneling, stained-glass windows, and even whimsical trompe l’oeil artistic illusions. Accommodations vary, ranging from the cozy 194-square-foot Essentielle room with a queen-size bed to the grand 904-square-foot Appartement Sloane, featuring two bedrooms, two bathrooms, walk-in closets, and a spacious living room. The rooms and suites feature a subtle Asian design influence harmoniously blended with traditional British elements. However, once there, you shouldn't miss the hotel's all-day restaurant that draws inspiration from the timeless 19th-century masterpiece, The Peacock Room.
