What to consider when you get a gaming desktop

What to consider when you get a gaming desktop

Handheld devices and gaming consoles are mostly wanted, no doubt. But PC gaming is still on the rise today. You can also say that it’s becoming a trend again, but why? Well, first of all, the quality and experience on a gaming desktop can be incomparable. Plus, a lot of brands and manufacturers have seen this new demand for PC and they are better prepared than ever to answer that high demand with innovation and technology. So, how do you choose the best gaming PC that will enable you to play all of your favourite video games? It may be a little challenging as a choosing process, because a good gaming desktop is a compromise of features (graphics cards and CPU), making you choose between them and carefully calculate your budget. However, if you take into consideration these important factors, chances are you end up with a decent gaming desktop from Dell, Asus, MSI, or Acer – while saving some money.

The importance of graphics card

Today, gaming PC’s are pre-installed with a graphics card and enter the market as they are. And most of these graphics are made by AMD and Nvidia, being the most common ones. If you’re looking for an enhancement, you should know that an excellent gaming PC can give you the opportunity of adding additional graphic cards, when you need more. Sure, an integrated graphics card will be enough if you play casual games. But you might still need to buy a graphic card for 3D AAA titles. By the way, the stronger a graphics card is, the more it will cost you. Don’t worry, it’s a good investment, as it will enable you to have the best time in VR (virtual reality) gaming and even 4k display resolutions. All for a good immersive experience, if you love gaming. But if you think this price is overkill, you can still find alternatives. For example, there are options to Nvidia’s high-end cards, like GeForce GTX 1660 Ti, GeForce GTX 1660, GeForce 1650, RTX 2070, or AMD Radeon RX cards.

Choosing CPU

One of the most important things to consider when buying a new gaming PC is the CPU – because it will be dealing with the quality of your graphics and some calculations, but the CPU also powers everything else and determines how your system handles other tasks, especially the complex ones. Two key players on the market when it comes to CPU are Intel and AMD. And if you are a budget gamer, you can choose between Intel Core i5 or the AMD Ryzen 5 for your gaming needs. But remember, always favour the graphics card, no matter what CPU you’re choosing.

The RAM

Main memory and storage shouldn’t be ignored when you decided to go for a gaming pc. Because you need to have at least 8GB of RAM (or higher) to get a good gaming experience. Fortunately, there is a drop in prices when it comes to solid-state drives, which have become more popular nowadays. Why? Simply because they can reduce the time to launch a game or load a new level. So, if you’re considering investing in an SDD but you don’t have the budget, a capacity of 500GB should do that job. However, if you have the necessary funds, we advise you to go for more capacity. And enjoy your new gaming PC!
