Are you a fan of Resident Evil? Now you can play it in VR!

The game Resident Evil Village, also known as Resident Evil 8, garnered immense popularity among horror enthusiasts upon its release. The game's combination of psychological terror and body horror creates an irresistible experience, and the first-person perspective further intensifies the immersion.

If you’re a fan and want more realness, we’ve got some hot news! From now on, players can experience the entire game in VR (virtual reality). If you're a fan of the Resident Evil series and VR, you might have already tried Resident Evil 7 in VR, which was an astonishing experience. Therefore, expectations are high for this VR version, which could potentially become one of the best video games to launch this month.

And that’s not all! We're thrilled that the upcoming update will be provided for free. How could we not be? It means that all game owners will have access to it. However, there's a catch - it's exclusively available on PSVR2. This update will launch with the virtual reality headset itself, which is excellent news as players could buy a PSVR2 and have a game ready to play. It's unfortunate that the update won't be initially available on PC, but it's possible it could be added later on.

Resident Evil 7 was initially released as a PlayStation exclusive, but it was eventually made available on PC VR platforms. It's unlikely that it will ever run natively on a Meta Quest 2. Nonetheless, it's worth remembering if you're a Resident Evil enthusiast with a PC VR headset, as it would be foolish not to launch it and satisfy fans.

So what is it about this new game? A popular leaker, AestheticGamer, also known as Dusk Golem, claims that Resident Evil 7, Resident Evil Village/8, and Resident Evil 9 are part of a cohesive trilogy and have been developed in conjunction with one another. According to the leaker, Resident Evil 7 initiated the trilogy, and the three games are connected with a premeditated storyline. AestheticGamer disclosed on Twitter that the development of all three games has been closely linked, implying that the general narrative has been extensively planned out for a while.

The leak suggests that many elements that appeared out of context or unclear in Resident Evil 7 will become more comprehensible when playing Resident Evil Village, also known as Resident Evil 8. As confirmed, the game's protagonist, Ethan Winters, will reappear in Resident Evil 8, alongside the well-known character Chris Redfield, who's recognized for punching a boulder in a fight.

During the Twitter discussion about the leak, AestheticGamer commented that Capcom appears to be moving away from numbered titles in the Resident Evil series to convey more distinct and self-contained stories, such as the trilogy involving Resident Evil 7, Resident Evil Village/8, and Resident Evil 9. The recent game titles' clever naming schemes, which integrate the numbers into the titles, seem to be a strategy to gradually move the franchise away from numbered titles altogether.

AestheticGamer, who has a reputable track record with Resident Evil leaks, previously revealed that a demo of Resident Evil Village with combat would be available in the spring. This prediction appears more plausible with the recent unveiling of a new Resident Evil Village showcase. Furthermore, AestheticGamer also revealed potential details regarding the game's opening sequence last month, providing a play-by-play of the first 30 minutes of the game. We won't spoil the details here in case you want to experience the game fresh, but it all sounds very exciting.
