An Aston Martin-designed residence that will blow your mind

An Aston Martin-designed residence that will blow your mind

If you've never thought of a supercar as a work of art, then you haven't seen the inside of an Aston Martin-designed home. The British luxury sports car brand may be renowned for its cars, but in recent years it has also entered the world of interior design through projects like the Aston Martin Residences in Miami and Sylvan Rock, the brand's first private residence located in Hudson Valley, New York.

Aston Martin is bringing its design expertise to Tokyo with the reveal of No. 001 Minami Aoyama, a luxury home in the sought-after Omotesando area of Minami Aoyama. The property was designed in collaboration with Japanese real estate firm Vibroa, and like many luxury car companies, the focus is on fine craftsmanship and design. No. 001 Minami Aoyama is set to be completed in November 2023.

Aston Martin is also collaborating with a local architect to create the exterior of No. 001 Minami Aoyama, while the car maker's own team of designers will handle the interior styling and furnishings. The property, which is still under construction, is set to be completed in November 2023 and will feature an ultra-contemporary facade with multi-dimensional panels and clean lines, according to renderings.

The four-storey townhouse has already been sold to a private buyer, but the sale marks the start of a wider growth strategy for Aston Martin in Japan. The interiors of the property will evoke a luxury feel similar to that of the car maker's vehicles, with clean lines, panels of wood and glass, natural light, and sumptuous textures and materials. The house will also feature an office, gym, spa, theatre, wine cellar and an automotive gallery for the owner to display their Aston Martin cars. The cars will be visible through interior glass panes, allowing the owner to admire them while they are parked. There will also be two additional parking spots available.

The luxury residence will feature a rooftop terrace with views of Tokyo and the Omotesando area. The furniture will be carefully selected by Aston Martin's designers, and the home is expected to be dramatic, design-forward and slightly futuristic. Marek Reichman, executive vice president and chief creative officer of Aston Martin, said the company's design studio has been influenced by Tokyo's culture and style. The residence has been tailored to the No. 001 Minami property, with a combination of elements and materials to create a calm and relaxing space. It is the company's first ultra-luxury collaboration in Asia with Vibroa.

So, what if not only supercars are considered art? Aston Martin proves that even residencies can be and indeed, you have to see one such interior to convince yourself that the British sports car brand is not only making luxury cars, but also private residencies that can blow your mind.
