A tourist guide to the unknown part of magical Ibiza - your next destination

Ibiza is widely renowned for its stage and clubbing culture, where acclaimed artists hit the stage to entertain the masses. There is, however, a less-known side of the island where those who seek relaxation and unwinding experiences find the perfect retreat. Ibiza is, in fact, a natural heaven with white sands and lush views that attract tourists from every corner of the world.

Beaches

The island doesn't come short regarding its luxuriant beaches. The coastal areas are the most popular spots to visit, where the Mediterranean wilderness fuses with crystal clear water, providing unique experiences. Dancing shoes? Swap them for sandals or take out your shoes. Because it's time to uncover the sandy beaches of Ibiza. Discover Cala Xuclar encircled by luxuriant pine trees, a wild area of Ibiza that's wonderful for swimming in the clear water - the bluest sea water you’ll ever swim in.

Mud therapy is a must-do activity for those looking for natural skin treatments with proven anti-inflammatory benefits and cleansing properties. The Aigues Blanques beach, located in the municipality of Santa Eulalia del Rio on Ibiza's eastern coast, attracts most of its visitors with its gray mineral-rich mud. Cala d'Hort is another famous retreat found inside a natural reserve, protected for its rich biodiversity and flora.

Countryside

Further away from its famous beaches, the inner part of the island has its attractions, such as groves of olives, figs, almonds, and extensive vineyards. Whether by foot or car, the countryside invites a slower pace on trails that carry along rich scenery at any time of the year.

If you are an active person, why not take the chance and go on a hike up to the tallest point on the island? You won't regret it, you'll have views over San Antonio and the Salinas salt flats. Also, take a 5km walk along the coast and get to know the landscape from Cala Xarraca to Cala Xuclar.

Sunsets

Ibiza's sunsets are a magnet for the romantic souls who wander away to the tiny island. Cala Conta, Las Salinas, and San Antonio are just a few spots worth mentioning when it comes to spectacular vistas as the sun sets in the ocean.

The Old Town

Perhaps not the quietest place in Ibiza, but still a good and quiet place to be if you're looking for a spot to chill away from the noisy nightclubs in San Antonio. Get to the Old Town at Dalt Vila and you can easily imagine what Ibiza used to be like in the old days. It's really an ancient place with cobbled streets, narrow alleys, and stone walls that lead to a fortress of the old city. You can even cross the drawbridge of Portal de Ses Taules and wander around a retro cobblestone square. Then, take it to the Plaza de Vila.

Peaceful hideaways

Some of the quiet and peaceful resorts where you can hide on a relaxing holiday include Portinax, Cala Llonga, Puerto San Miguel, and Santa Eulalia. These are great options for a vacation on the more peaceful side of Ibiza. You'll be happy to find here a variety of bohemian vibes, private beaches, elegant restaurants, charming villages, and modern marinas. These lodges will show you that Ibiza is so much more than just a classic party place.

And if you want, you can distance yourself from Ibiza and acquire a taste of the unique paradise on the island of Formentera. It's a remote and small island that you can get to in 30 minutes by ferry, from Ibiza. This island is home to white shores and it really has an authentic hippie atmosphere about it. During the day, visit Playa Ses Illetes or Playa Mijorn to enjoy the famous coconut and pineapples directly on the beach. Have fun!
