6 restaurants you should try once in a lifetime

Looking for some of the best restaurants in the world? Look no further, as here are 6 of the most exclusive places where you can have a special dinner, but make sure you book a table now!

There are so many good restaurants in the world today. But how do they catch one's attention? Do you watch Chef's Table on Netflix and get your inspiration there? Or are you just confused about the multitude of choices?

In a report sure to split foodies across the planet, the world’s best restaurants have officially been designated for this year. Revealed as part of the World’s 50 Best Awards, this year's best restaurants unveiled some of the best chefs you'll ever see, from all corners of the globe. And - surprise: it's the second year that Copenhagen takes home the No. 1 title. Because after 2021, when Noma (in Copenhagen) won the award of the world's best restaurant, this year, the runner-up Geranium was named the world’s best restaurant (also in Copenhagen). Who knew Danes are good at more than just pastry and bread?

El Celler De Can Roca - Girona, Spain

Food critics around the world praise El Celler and for a good reason. Another number 1 of past years, the Roca brothers have over 10,000 visitors yearly. Maybe the only way to resolve this debate of whether it was the first or the second best restaurant will be to get on the waiting list and start saving for the bill you'll get at the table.

Geranium, Copenhagen

Award-winning chef Rasmus Kofoed and co-owner Søren Ledet are the two stars of Geranium, this year's winner of the Best Restaurant in the world award. And if you're trying to imagine how it is eating there, is precisely the type of avant-garde eating adventure you’d wish to have at the top. You'll find it on the 8th floor of Copenhagen’s national football arena. Once inside, you can enjoy a tasting menu for three hours, composed of locally inspired and depending on the seasonal ingredients, called "Universe". Immerse yourself in a 20-course festival with appetizers, savory dishes, sweets, and treats: you will definitely love it. Did you know that Geranium is the first Danish restaurant that won three Michelin stars? Since then - in 2016 - the business developed and changed its menu, constantly growing its offering to nicely serve the demands of consumers. What's more, this year, the chef Rasmus Kofoed made the restaurant Geranium entirely meat-free. It is now offering exclusively locally sourced seafood and vegetables from diverse farms in Scandinavia.

Talula's Table - Kennet Square, Pennsylvania

Kennet Square is located near the Maryland and New Jersey borders, and Talula's Table dominates the Mushroom Capitol of the World. It is a restaurant that specializes in gastronomist farm-to-table dining, and it's one of the best and one of the smallest restaurants in the world as well. In case you want to book a table, know that reservations are handled exactly 1 year in advance.

The Buffett Lunch - New York, New York

Every year, Warren Buffett has lunch with one fortunate individual and up to seven visitors at Smith & Wollensky in New York City. You can say it's the most expensive meal in the world. When Buffett auctions off this select event the high rollers get in the queue. There are people that would pay $3 million just to get a chair at the table of America's most famous investor. But all this money goes to charity, fortunately. There are people that said the lunch had a real impact on their lives, shifting their perspective. These auctions for the most expensive lunch date are booked only once a year.

Central, Lima

This year's second place is no other than Central, the famous Lima restaurant ruled by chefs Virgilio Martínez and Pía León. Their art is true poetry dedicated to Peru, celebrating regional crops and they are becoming more and more popular every year. Virgilio and Pia, husband and wife, first came out into the world in 2013. Since then, they are conquering hearts and stomachs from all over the world and just last year Central was in the top 4 best restaurants. Central was awarded for its distinctive strategy for sustainable sourcing, and analysts from the famous award have noted that its plates are overflowing with amazing biodiversity. If you want to know what it's all about, their tasting menu includes squid, scallops, and clams freshly brought from the coast and the Amazon.

Pujol, Mexico City

A top North American restaurant is Pujol, a somewhat surprising admission to the award, especially for the inexperienced. About twenty years ago, chef Enrique Olvera transformed an architecturally designed house into a gorgeous restaurant, finished with an excellent metropolitan menu. Pujol is most famous for its mixed-tasting menu that switches every season. At the same time, this menu consistently contains the traditional Mole Madre and Mole Nuevo plates.

So, which one will you try first?
